ANTANZEN is an open training for non-professionals with the aim to get to know and try out various styles and dance techniques - from classical ballet, voguing, house to contemporary dance. It is aimed at adults who are interested in experiencing dance for themselves, consciously training their bodies, and exploring new approaches to movement. No pre-registration or prior dance experience is required. It takes place once a month at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Staatstheater Darmstadt and from January 2023 at the Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm.
The ANTANZEN format is carried out in collaboration with dance teachers from the region and the national and international network of alumni of the Master's degree program in Contemporary Dance Education (MA CoDE) at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK).
From January 2023 at the Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm
The format "Antanzen" of the Tanzplattform Rhein Main, already popular in Darmstadt and Wiesbaden, celebrates a small premiere by taking place for the first time in the rooms of the Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm. In the spirit of further opening up the house, you will have the opportunity to try out new dance styles once a month in the coming months. Starting in January 2023, we will introduce you to new forms of movement every two months. The goal is to discover new forms of dance, try them out, and learn more about the history and origins of each style.
For this purpose we will invite choreographers and dance teachers from the broad free scene of contemporary dance; whether contemporary dance, voguing and whacking, lyrical, house, popping and locking or ballet. We want the entire spectrum of the dancing urban society to be represented.
