At the young age of 3, Panama discovered his passion for dance. "Vogue Fem" is a dance style that originated in the African-American and Latinx LGBTIQ+ ballroom scene in the 1980s. Inspired by famous images of models in Vogue magazines, the style is characterized by dramatic poses and fluid movements. It incorporates elements of ballet, modern dance and often involves voguers performing in groups or "houses" in competitions called "balls."
The style has played an important role in queer and trans communities, providing a space for self-expression and creativity. Vogue Fem/femme is also closely linked to the broader cultural movement of ballroom, which has been celebrated in popular culture through shows like "Pose" and movies such as “Paris is burning”.
