Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm - Probebühne 3
The workshop invites you to learn more about Ballroom and Voguing. In doing so, it aims to raise awareness about why this culture and the associated free spaces are of great importance in Germany. Ballroom was created especially by and for queer BIPoC bodies. The physical form of expression can therefore not be separated from the activist and social work of the community. Furthermore, the workshop combines the participants' own testing of dance practices with the mediation of the social and political background of Ballroom culture as well as the resulting recognition struggles. In addition, participants will gain a basic understanding of the different dance styles and categories such as Vogue-Fem, New Way, Old Way, Runway or Face.
