Every year, Tanzplattform Rhein-Main offers a series of one- to two-week residencies to local dance makers and their teams in the studios of the Hessische Staatsballett or at Mousonturm
In addition to providing rehearsal space, Tanzplattform Rhein-Main covers travel costs for public transport if the residency does not take place where the artists live. If desired, the residency can end with a presentation at which the groups offer some insights into their work.
The Pop-Up program makes existing resources accessible to a wider circle of independent dance professionals. Furthermore, the residencies help introduce them to the structures of the state theatres in Darmstadt and Wiesbaden, which independent artists rarely take into consideration as potential cooperation partners. For the team of Tanzplattform Rhein-Main, Pop-Up also offers time and space to get to know the work of dance creators, who may up to now not have been on the radar.
If you are a dance maker and wish to apply for a Pop-up Residency, please send a short description of your project, yourself and/ or your team to the Tanzplattform Rhein-Main team at anmeldung@tanzplattformrheinmain.de.
There are no application deadlines, but the desired work period cannot be more than 4 months away at the time of application. The Pop-Up Residencies will take place in Darmstadt, Frankfurt or Wiesbaden, depending on available space.
