Yoga for Dancers - Meditation in Action
How can we deepen an Asana practice? We will take the time to touch upon details within poses and discover their connections. Pointing out clear focus points while practicing different Asanas, we can observe how the activation of one body part effects another. Emphasising the roll of alignment can be used to effectively relieve the body of a dancer or to highlight different information than what might usually be dealt with in a dance class. My personal yoga practice is in constant development, influenced by regular studies with traditional teachers of Hatha Yoga (mainly Iyengar school), my own experience of what I needed as a dancer, and observing various dancers' bodies. During the week we will take time to talk and exchange on different physical needs and clarify questions that might come up from this practice. Please bring your own mat if you wish to work with one. The class can also be done without.
